Has more than 17 years of public interest environmental law and social development work, and as independent consultant specializing in environmental law and policy.
Has years of institutional management, project and program development, and project management and implementation experience being the current Country Programme Manager of the Fifth Operational Phase of the GEF – Small Grants Programme implemented by the UNDP Philippines and the Biodiversity Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and having been executive director of First Philippine Conservation, Inc. (2006-2010), Mediators Network for Sustainable Peace, Inc. (2005-2006) and Tanggol Kalikasan (1998-2003). Duties included managing the organizations and their projects, preparing and marketing proposals, and serving as the public face of the organizations. Among the projects managed were funded by The Ford Foundation, The Asia Foundation, the USAid, the Canadian International Development Agency, the Foundation for the Philippine Environment, Misereor, GTZ and First Gen Corporation and other profit organizations that give development support through Corporate Social Responsibility.
Has years of experience in education through development and conduct of training for various stakeholders in environmental management and governance, broadcasting, professional lectures in the Philippines and abroad, and teaching in universities.
Has years of direct service delivery experience having been a legal researcher and staff lawyer of Tanggol Kalikasan (1992-1998), and Senior Technical Specialist for Environmental Law Enforcement of the Northern Sierra Madre Natural Park of WWF, Phils.

During my term, FPCI launched the Center of Center campaign that led to the first ever Malacañang-initiated National Biodiversity Conference in November 2006 where Executive Order No. 578 was signed by the President of the Philippines, and the formulation of the Conservation and Management Plan for Verde Island Passage, that body of water that straddles the provinces of Batangas, Mindoro Oriental, Mindoro Occidental, Romblon and Marinduque. FPCI was also a major player in the formulation of the National Plan of Action (NPOA) pursuant to the Regional Plan of Action (RPOA) of the Coral Triangle Initiative (CTI).
