A Shared Commitment to Peace: MedNet and MPOS-BARMM Join Efforts

The partnership between the Mediators Network for Sustainable Peace, Inc. (MedNet) and the Ministry of Public Order and Safety of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MPOS-BARMM) took a step forward with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on October 13, 2026, at the MedNet Office in Xavierville Avenue, Loyola Heights, Katipunan, Quezon City.

Coming all the way from Mindanao for the engagement were Atty. Michael M. Mamukid, Director II of MPOS-BARMM; Dr. Rafsan Johnny A. Abdul, Division Chief of its Alternative Dispute Resolution Division; and Shahid P. Akbara, Provincial Coordinator for Basilan.
The MOU was signed by MedNet Executive Director Jhon Robert O. Ko and Atty. Mamukid, with Mr. Zeto Eguia representing MedNet and Dr. Abdul representing MPOS-BARMM as witnesses. The agreement covers 2026 to 2028, with the first Empowering Dispute Resolution Mechanisms and Processes (EDR/MP) training course set to take place in Davao City.

The signing followed the opening of the 2026 Philippine ADR Week and the National Alternative Dispute Resolution Convention on October 12 at Century Park Hotel in Manila. Ko had invited the MPOS-BARMM delegation to join the event, where Atty. Mamukid delivered a message of support.
The engagement continued on October 14, when Ko accompanied the delegation on a visit to the Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution (OADR) in Manila.

With the MOU signed, MedNet and MPOS-BARMM are moving forward with their planned collaboration, beginning with the EDR/MP training in Davao City.
