For me, it gives me satisfaction to give my full effort and give hope to the community that somehow our condition might change if we only embrace the change [ourselves]. I emphasize this to every community I visit—we need to change; Allah will not change us if we do not make the change ourselves.”

Isang #humanrights worker at volunteer sa maraming grassroots organizations si Bam. Mula sa lalawigan ng Sulu, nagsisilbi rin siyang volunteer sa mga kalapit na probinsya gaya nang Basilan at Tawi-Tawi.

Tulad ni Mheng Isa, kasama rin si Bam sa mga participants ng Women Insider Mediators–Rapid Action and Mobilization Platform na tumanggap ng mediation training noong nakaraang taon. Ayon sa kanya, isa sa mga tumatak ang principle ng OFNR—Observation, Feelings, Needs and Request for Actions—dahil mas nagiging mahinahon ang mga kababaihan sa pagsagawa ng kani-kaniyang trabaho sa bahay man o sa komunidad.
